This study explores whether engaging with aesthetic content on social media – such as clean girl, cottagecore, old money, or dark academia, etc – and wishing to embody these aesthetic styles is associated with how clearly young adults aged 18–30 know who they are. The survey takes approximately 8 minutes to complete.
You can participate if you are:
- Aged 18–30 - A user of Instagram, TikTok, or Pinterest - Someone who has at some point engaged with aesthetic-style content on social media
Participation is entirely voluntary and anonymous. You may stop at any time without any disadvantage or obligation to explain yourself. Your responses cannot be traced back to you. No names or contact details are collected. Your responses are processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Only sociodemographic data (age and gender) are collected alongside your survey responses. All data is stored on a password-protected device and processed using IBM SPSS Statistics. Data is retained for 10 years in accordance with legal requirements for scientific research. The data controller is Sigmund Freud Private University Vienna (datenschutz@sfu.ac.at).
